Visit from Don Chambers
Don Chambers is currently in Suriname. He is not here for papal mission works but for the management training project. We have presented the projects for the papal missionary works and  of the Childhood to him. He gave us some very good advice. It always good to discuss projects.

Missionary Sunday
Last Sunday was the Missionary Sunday. It was great to see how involved the believers are in the missionary message of the Church. I for one can say that the people have been very generous when it came to giving donations to help finance the various projects from all over the world. We receive back 10-, 30- and 60 times the contributions to missionary works. Thank you very much for your contributions.


CPI/STICON
Last Monday the management teams from the CPI and the STICON held a meeting. The new members were given a warm welcome and they were also brought up to speed on the problems that they will have to tackle. The members are eager to get to work. On October 19th, there was a meeting where we said goodbye to the old members. It was a pleasant gathering during which old events were discussed and shared with each other. All of the outgoing members received flowers and a lasting present to thank them for the work they did for the CPI. Once again thank you.
The chairman of the CPI management team is  Mr. Jerry Hoffman, while the bishop is still the chairman of the management of the STICON.

Wedding Albert and Luna
On October 15th, Albert and Luna got married. Father Esteban Kross performed the service. As usual a few jokes were made. Most of the times these jokes are made out of fear for the reality shock of the seriousness of marriage. The wedding gradually turned into a real party. A reception was held afterwards in the Hermitage, the yard of the bishop. The music stopped at 10 o’clock and everything became quiet. A few persons stayed until 12 o’clock. It was truly an unforgettable day for Albert and Luna. And of course Albert’s father kept a watchful eye from heaven. Albert’s father recently passed away. Albert left for Holland on October 16th to attend the funeral. We offer him our deepest condolences.

Father Kross absent
Father Esteban Kross will be abroad for ten days as he has to attend a wedding in Holland. We wish him a great time.


Concert in the Cathedral
The concert that was held in the Cathedral on October 16th was once again excellent. The beautiful piano music, singing and the recital made it all worthwhile. On October 28th, 29th and 30th there will be a musical piece to celebrate the jubilee of Hope and Togetherness. The quality of the formation will guarantee the success of this musical piece.  November 20th will be the third Sunday of the month which means that there will be a concert in the Cathedral. Don’t miss it!

All Souls’ Day
November 2nd will be All Souls’ Day. On this day we will commemorate the faithful departed, in particular our dead relatives and friends. A special service will be held in the church located along the Schietbaanweg  around 5 p.m. The church will be rededicated as funeral church and the recently constructed columbarium will also be dedicated. Persons will then be able to put the urns containing the ashes of their loved ones in the columbarium.
